Yumbo 150cc

So after about 4 weeks of looking for a moto we decided on an Indian assembled bike with a Honda engine. For some reason motos don’t depreciate here and on top of that maintenance is not in the Guatemalan vocabulary, so we decide to buy new.

(a maintenance side note) There is a dirt road by a river that feeds lake Atitlan and it has broken down police trucks lining the side of the road. Europeans bought the trucks after the peace accords here in the late 90’s so that Guatemala could have a police force. The trucks that are broken down are less than 4 years old.

So our new Yumbo can take us home and to the shop safely while keeping the cobble stone from vibrating us off the bike. It even has a handy tool compartment on the back.

Awesome bike! I can just imagine you guys riding through the mountains while you are leaning left and right and heading up the road to La Cottage!! Of course I also see both of you with your helmets on!! Glad you have transportation so you are able to get to work. Can Hava do a wheelie yet???

Thats looks way fun to ride … . and it’s probably safer than free climbing … . so I bet my parents would love to get me one! :-)
