So we got the hook up for a nice smooth ride….an old 1.9 liter toyota van with a nice array of banderas de muchos colores. It’s funny because everyone that watches us sputter up the mountain waves as we pass because their van is well known by many…
In Guatemala..you have to specify the color of your vehicle to register it. They were able to fit themselves under a new category…multicolores. They are letting us drive back and forth from the cafe to the finca until we get the hook up for a moto. They have been holding a fair here the past couple weeks….lots of crazy fireworks and ferris wheels that should be outlawed…thats another blog in itself. haha
Anywho, the police have set up blockades all over town…making it impossible to drive to the cafe on one ways the right way. It is a zoo trying to avoid motorcycles, the overpopulated gang of street dogs and other crazy drivers. It has been quite an experience to say the least….and we thought Chicago was bad.
Yep, that is a Hava and Brett vehicle! Did Michael have the paint job done locally? I bet it beats walking up the mountain every day! Remember to get helmets when you get the motorbike!
That is really cool for Michael and Adele to let you guys drive their van home at night. They have flags all over their shop and all over their van!
